When I was looking for a new truck the past month or so, I perhaps would have considered a Pontiac. But, there’s only one problem: as far as I know there aren’t any Pontiac pickup trucks in the Dallas Fort Worth area. In fact, there’s no such thing as a Pontiac pickup truck.
The lack of a Pontiac pickup truck has plauged me for a while; GM surely could build one but for some reason they’ve chosen not to–perhaps the Pontiac pickup truck would be more like the Pontiac SUVs out there or maybe it should be a luxury pickup, competing with the Lincoln pickup truck I love so much?
The reason I’ve been wondering about the Pontiac pickup trucks is that Pontiac is running a bunch of television commercials locally here in the Dallas/Fort Worth area where they ask viewers (at the end of the commercial) to “Google Pontiac Dallas Fort Worth” for more information about Pontiacs. This really intrigues me, as this is one of the first times that ad agencies might be showing some sense–they actually realize that people like you and me actually use the Google search engine and search engines in general to find out more information. As you may or may not know, I’ve been practicing Search Engine Optimization and Search Engine Marketing for a living since 1996. And I’m the original founder of the Dallas/Fort Worth Search Engine Marketing association where some advertising agencies are actually beginning to take some interest.
So, tonight, I see–again; that Pontiac Dallas Fort Worth commercial that tells you to go to Google. Surely, people are going to Google (and possibly other search engines) and doing what they ask: Google Pontiac Dallas Fort Worth. It’s interesting that they don’t show the search results; maybe after this post here this post will show up in those search results for the keyword search: Pontiac Dallas Fort Worth. Who knows?
