I’ve been following the current truck deals in my area (North Texas) and have a list of what I’ve been looking for. Zero percent financing is a pretty good offer, and Ford is offering zero percent financing plus they say they’ll pay for your gas until 2007.
Current Offers:
– Ford offers zero percent financing for 60 months plus $1100 in gas
– GMC Trucks offers zero percent financing on some models
– Chevrolet offers some zero percent financing
– Toyota offers some zero percent financing
All of these offers are for new vehicles only, and I think they’re just for the 2006 models. Ford seems to have the best deal, where they’ll give you zero percent financing for 5 years (so all the payment goes towards the principle and not the finance charges). But, Ford also offers a $1100 prepaid Mastercard as well. So, right now that’s probably the best deal out there. At this point, though, it looks like I’m probably going to end up with a Ford truck as long as a dealer will offer me a reasonable price for my truck. I don’t think $8000 is a reasonable price; although Tri County Ford in Mabank offered me $9450 which is a bit higher than what Paul Murrey Ford offered me ($8,000 for my truck).
I’m not currently looking for a Dodge truck because I just have some sort of bias towards Dodge trucks; I won’t go into it right now. But, besides, I don’t especially like those annoying Doctor Z commercials they’re running right now. I believe Dodge is offering some sort of deal with zero percent financing and what they’re calling “employee prices” where you get the same price as what Dodge employees pay. Ford did that a while back but they’re not offering it right now unless, of course, you’re a Ford employee.
